This year, Team Andron joined Sir Chris Hoy on the 5th of September for a 60-mile cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh, as part of Social Bites ‘Break The Cycle’ fundraising event. Setting off from the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, our Operations Director, Paul Orru, Training & Social Development Manager, Bryan Maher and Regional Manager, Peter Jones, pedalled the 60 miles across Scotland’s central belt and crossed the finish line in Edinburgh – just along from Social Bite’s flagship Village in Granton.
The sun was shining and despite the steep terrain, Team Andron were still smiling at the finish line. Team Andron also finished in the top 10 teams overall for funds raised, with a substantial £7300 being raised to tackle the homelessness epidemic and as a result, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to meet Sir Chris Hoy himself.
Andron would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported Team Andron throughout. The money raised will go towards building two new Social Bite villages, as well as on projects that truly Break the Cycle of homelessness.
