We’re proud to announce that we have transitioned our entire fleet to fully electric vehicles—one year early. This move has been instrumental in reducing our transportation-related carbon emissions by 74.1% in 2023, equivalent to the annual CO₂ absorption of 4,730 trees or 104 round-trip flights from New York to London.
At Andron, our commitment to sustainability is more than just a business strategy—it’s a fundamental part of who we are. In recent years, we have been dedicated to reducing carbon emissions from business travel, a significant factor in our Scope 1 and 3 emissions. This focus highlights our commitment to sustainability, achieving Net Zero by 2040 and progressing toward a more sustainable future.
Delivering exceptional service while reducing our carbon footprint
Our Account Management teams frequently travel to client sites to support our soft facilities management operations, delivering the best service possible. However, this extensive travel significantly contributes to our overall carbon footprint. For this reason, transitioning our fleet to go fully electric has been a top priority.
We first introduced electric vehicles (EVs) for business travel in 2021, aiming for a fully electric fleet by 2025. Thanks to our diligent efforts, we’ve achieved this goal one year ahead of schedule.
Benefits to our clients
Clients who partner with us benefit significantly from our collaborative decarbonisation efforts, particularly in reducing their Scope 3 emissions and meeting ESG (environmental, social, and governance) targets. By transitioning to fully electric vehicles and implementing other sustainability initiatives, we work together to lower the overall carbon footprint of the services we provide. Our commitment to Net Zero and decarbonisation reflects not only regulatory compliance but also a shared dedication to sustainable business practices, making meaningful progress alongside our clients.
Initiatives driving our decarbonisation journey
Other travel initiatives to decarbonise our operations include a minimum delivery spending policy with our supplier, Bunzl, which cuts delivery frequency and emissions. And through Bunzl’s carbon forecasting service, we implement minor adjustments to delivery routes, orders, and schedules, helping us achieve up to a 30% reduction in carbon emissions per account. Bunzl translates these savings into practical benefits, such as fewer miles driven, helping us better understand the impact of our carbon reduction efforts.
We have also cut face-to-face meetings by 50%, promoting virtual interactions and fostering a more flexible work environment. Last year, we hosted our first carbon-neutral sustainability event, offsetting 31.5 tonnes of CO2e by planting trees through Treedom to neutralise attendees’ travel emissions. So far, all our efforts have already led to an impressive 71.3% reduction in our Scope 1 carbon emissions, and we intend to continue our decarbonising efforts as we head into 2025.
