Andron Facilities Management has been successfully awarded a three-year contract to deliver cleaning, hygiene and associated soft services at leading retail and leisure destination Silverburn, Glasgow.
Following a competitive tender process, Silverburn and its managing agent, Workman LLP, chose Andron for its bespoke service solution that focuses on delivering operational excellence, innovation, sustainability, and an exceptional customer experience for the Silverburn community.
Situated in Pollok, Southwest of Glasgow city centre, the impressive 1,000,000-square-foot retail and leisure destination attracts visitors from all over the west of Scotland.
The heart of Pollok community
To this day, Silverburn remains firmly rooted in its local community. Andron will work with Silverburn to drive forward the destination’s social value initiatives, such as Silverburn Cares, the Silverburn community garden, and Pollok Pantry: a community food initiative that provides disadvantaged people with food items at significantly reduced prices.
In addition to its strong community ties, Silverburn is heavily focused on limiting its environmental impact and is transitioning towards becoming net positive on carbon, water use and resource use. Andron’s services will be delivered using chemical-free cleaning products, sustainable consumables, energy-efficient equipment, and uniforms made from recycled plastic. Furthermore, Andron’s carbon-neutral waste service combined with a closed-loop recycling programme for all end-of-life equipment, uniform, and cleaning products will ensure zero waste goes to landfill.
Paul Orru, Operations Director, Andron, said:
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to partner with Silverburn and Workman LLP as they reposition the centre as the West of Scotland’s premier retail and leisure destination. Andron’s knowledge, passion, attention to detail, extensive experience and understanding of managing similar retail and leisure destinations across Scotland and the UK, makes us the ideal partner for this contract. We look forward to working together to create a partnership for good that is rooted in ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible ways of working.”
David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said:
“It’s important that all of our partners and suppliers share our values and are aligned with our aspirations for Silverburn. We take great pride in providing the best possible visitor experience, all while limiting our impact on the environment, and we are confident our partnership with Andron will achieve this.”
