Our CEO, Cheryl Stewart, had an amazing time speaking as a panellist at The Herald Scotland Scottish Family Business Breakfast on August 28th. Cheryl discussed all things family business, reflecting on her journey at Andron and providing invaluable insights to help family businesses thrive in today’s dynamic environment.
The event, hosted at the impressive Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre, brought together family business leaders and professionals to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities of running a family business. Thank you to Brian Taylor for hosting this great event and to Sir Jim Walker from Walker’s Shortbread Ltd for delivering such an insightful keynote speech.
It was also a pleasure to hear from fellow panellist William Smillie, Joint Managing Director at BE Uniforms, who joined in on the discussion about distinctive dynamics family businesses face, the lessons learned while scaling, and the significant contribution family enterprises make to both the Scottish and UK economies. The stories of resilience and innovation were especially powerful, demonstrating the strength of family-run businesses.
We’re excited to take these insights forward and look forward to reconnecting at future events!
