We are pleased to be able to play our part in stopping the spread of COVID-19 through a new Lateral Flow testing initiative at our client site, Golden Square Shopping Centre.
Golden Square is to be registered as an official test site to detect asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19, and regular voluntary tests will be available to all on-site staff and retail teams.
Training and Social Development Manager Kim Moate recently received training from Public Health England which qualifies her to screen the samples from people taking the test. The tests are conducted by the individual themselves, with Kim ensuring the swab is then correctly processed to produce results within 30 minutes. If a positive result is received, an NHS test must be booked and the individual must self-isolate in line with Government advice.
Operations Director Paul Orru is pictured here, carrying out his swab test under Kim’s guidance (he later received a negative result). Although not a replacement for NHS testing, this programme will be crucial in ensuring the health and safety of personnel on site and is expected to be rolled out from next week, with Kim adding, ‘We believe it’s a great service to be able to offer our staff as part of our Golden Square Cares Wellbeing Initiative’.
Well done to Golden Square for playing such a crucial role in the fight against COVID-19!
